The City Church is a group of imperfect disciples of Jesus, existing as a family of servant missionaries for the glory of God and the good of our cities. If you’re new to town, aren’t sure about Jesus or church, or are simply seeking a church family, our desire is to give you a clear path for getting involved. Of course, you’re welcome to get in touch with a leader at any time, but here’s the three-step path toward becoming involved in The City Church family.
1. Simply Join Us
Whether a Sunday, a City Group meeting, or a church event, we’re honored to have guests! From there and when you’re ready, fill out a visitor card (Found in our Monthly Guide) and drop it in the offering box, email a leader, or join us for a monthly “City 101” (the first Sunday of each month, after a Sunday gathering). From there, we will touch base, answer questions, and help you find a City Group, to give you a glimpse of the core of our church’s life.
2. City Basics Course
This is a 3-week introduction to life in The City Church: if you’re newer to our church family and are curious to know more of who we are, how we live, and why; or if you’ve been around for awhile and have questions, this class is for you. It is also a prerequisite for membership. Lunch and childcare is provided each week. Over the three 80-minute interactive sessions, we’ll cover…
- Gospel-centrality & “fluency”
- Discipleship & identity
- City Church life & affections
Watch the calendar or monthly pamphlet for the next “City Basics” Classes.
After being involved in a City Group for a season and participating in the “City Basics” courses, we invite you to jump in and serve in areas of ministry & mission you’re called to, and to consider our Membership Class. This one-session class (generally held a week or two after each “City Basics” Class) overviews doctrine, the concept of covenant and what it involves, ways to serve according to your passions and giftings, any final questions you have, and doing a Member interview with an elder.
